Have you already heard about human swine flu? It seems to be a new epidemic or even the worst influenza after the bird flu. The outbreak is really tough and this topic is widely spoken about. Frankly speaking, it looks a bit unbelievable but nevertheless – knowledge is power and we’d better know some facts about the following disaster.

What Is Swine Flu?

The swine flu is a strain of virus, most likely that nowadays we deal with the H₁N₁ strain, which can be passed from pigs to human beings. The virus was identified in pigs in 1930.

Unfortunately, the way of transmitting is as easy as ABC – the virus is transmitted person-to-person contact, also by touching something someone with a virus, also this infection is an airborne one. 

Symptoms are the same as typical flu symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills and fatigue.

It is really awful since even those who don’t live in Mexico, and even those who live very far from it are in danger. The disease is extremely catching and contagious and it spreads like a wildfire. The saddest part, even young and healthy people are prone to this virus.

So it is better to avoid travels these days (especially to Mexico and the USA).
