After reading such a blog I perfectly understand how must look an ideal travel blog. First of all, it has bright, catching design, then, convenient navigation and exciting, interesting information. On Hotel Club Travel Blog I found a successful combination of these 3 features. I devoted to this blog the whole day, I was reading, speculating, planning, wondering and constantly discovering something new about as it would seem simply things. For example:

1. Being a heavy fan of golf (do you remember, after my visit to Egypt?) I found out where you and I can have the worlds best golf courses;
2. As a great admirer of various unusual lists, I discovered what the most luxurious yachts are, how looks the hotel of the future, found more about underwater and strange recycled hotels…

As you remember, yesterday we started a new category and a new topic – travel guides, so today let me introduce you the second part of our travel guide to Alaska. Now you will get acquainted with main entertainings and amusements of this place.

Believe me, there are a lot of them, some are popular, some are not, some are open only in winter and some only in summer, but, anyway, a trip to Alaska is something, that you will never forget. So, main tourists attractions:

Places of Historical Heritage

If you are an experienced traveller and you visit to Egypt starts from pyramids, this small city is for you. In Alaska your “must-to-visit” list looks like that: historical museums (University of Alaska Museum of the North, Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center etc.), performance of Native dances and traditional music, heritage centers.

It doesn’t matter what region to travel, in any case you will be satisfied!

To tell the truth, these 3 activities can be called main activities for those, who adore active rest. Thousands of rivers, lakes, severe mountain waters. For instance, rafting tour, can lasts from 1 hour to the whole day. You can try on a very dangerous, extreme rafting among ice cubes. Be careful, it is forbidden to transport some things from Alaska, so, consult customs-officer before buying.

And the last, but very important point – what do to during the night? So, restaurants and clubs.

Alaska is famous for its seafood products. Cuisine of Alaska contains various cakes, pancakes, pies. Be sure to taste salmon bake. Actually, it is not a night past-time, but… Just try a salmon-bake dinner!

Let’s start from the geographical data:

First of all, Alaska is the largest state in the USA. It is a land of amazing, even stunning natural beauty, the landscapes are incredible, they can take your breath away. There are 3 million of lakes in Alaska, over 3,000 rivers, 100,000 glaciers and 15 national parks. The biggest city in Alaska is called Anchorage (more than 40 percent of the whole population lives there). Alaska had a lot of regions and each region has something unique, peculiar only to it. Then, what about the weather? No doubts, clothing is a primary concern of any traveller. Listen to my advice, try to take only comfortable, warm and reliable things, mainly made from natural fabrics. During the summer average temperature is from 60°F to 80°F. Nights are a little bit cooler. So, pay attention even in the warmest regions, the weather rarely goes up more than 80°F.

How to get! It is really very simple, either by road or by train, and, of course, the most convenient way – by air. In the biggest cities (such as: Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks and Ketchikan) there is a developed system of public transportation.

• except the Aleutian Islands, the whole Alaska is situated in one time zone – 1 hour earlier than Pacific Time;

When to travel!

The followings info will help you to determine the time of your travelling. So, from 15th of May to 15th of September we deal with a Peak Season – Alaska is crowded with visitors, tourists and guests. Days are long and it is not so cold. Great variety of recreational and entertaining activities. The following season is a Shoulder Season – till the 15th of May, late September and October. The weather is not bad, not many tourists and huge discounts! Finally, a Winter Season, it comes from November to April. It is time for ski-lovers and fans of cold winter romance.
