Thailand boasts some of the most breathtaking and spectacular beaches in the world. You will really love its white sand beaches and crystal-clear blue waters. It goes without saying that Bangkok offers one the most amazing nightlife throughout the country and world as well. The country is full of numerous restaurants, clubs and night markets.

It seems to me you will find a lot of your own reasons to visit this amazing country!

Perhaps most importantly, you will need an international driving permit in order to be able to legally rent a vehicle in Thailand.

This documentation can be applied for through the Post Office, although this can only be done in the three months leading up to when you are due to travel to the country.

It is important that you keep your permit on you at all times while using a car, if you are pulled over for a random police spot-check it is likely that they will ask you to present it them.

You will also find that all reputable car hire companies will require you have an international driving permit in order to rent a car during your holiday in Thailand, while you will also need your passport and a major credit card. In the UK you can legally drive from the age of 17, but in order to hire a car or motorcycle as a tourist in the south-east Asian country you need to be older.

This varies depending on which company you hire from and some may require that you are at least 23.

Providing you meet the above criteria, you should be free to hit the road! There are several similarities to driving in Thailand as there are in the UK, so while getting around may not be too daunting there are some differences you should take into account.

Thai laws require motorists to drive on the left-hand side of the road, just like in the UK. However, this rule is not always followed and you may find instances where road users drive on the opposite side in order to make a turning. You’ll find this is particularly the case in busy cities like Phuket and Bangkok, so make sure you’re aware of what’s going on around you at all times.

Getting from one town to the next should not be too difficult of a task, as major road signs are written in English and Thai. However, you should also make sure that you carry a map and/or sat-nav just in case you run into difficulties as you may find there are fewer signs if you venture off the beaten track.

It is also important to remember that road distances and speed are measured in kilometres, so don’t fall into the mistake of basing your journey on how many miles you need to cover.

While in Thailand you may be tempted to hire a motorcycle or scooter – these are certainly popular vehicles among the locals – and while these can be a quick way to get around, it is important to get one from a reputable company.

You will find a number of beach resorts offer two-wheel vehicles for hire, however these are often unregistered and as such cannot be used legally on public roads. Quad-bikes also cannot be driven on the road.

If you do choose to rent a bike, you should make sure that you wear a helmet. Although this is the law, many locals and tourists choose to ignore this rule. However, you should not fall into making the same error, as you may be fined by the police for doing so.

As is the same in the UK, drivers in Thailand must also wear a seatbelt and while drink-driving rules are also in place, the amount of alcohol you can legally have in your system is lower.

In Thailand, the limit stands at 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood – the equivalent of around one bottle of beer – compared to the 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres rule in the UK. Although it is illegal to drive over the limit, many Thai motorists will often get behind the wheel while under the influence.

Of course, that is not to say you should follow their example and if the police find you guilty of an offence, you could be charged between 200 and 2,000 baht (around £4 to £40).

1. Disney’s Blizzard BeachLocation: within the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

   Theme: Melted ski resort.

   Story: This park is a former ski resort so it has its look and feel but actually it is a 66-acre water adventure park and BTW a 100 percent tropical one.

   Attractions:

   With the “snowy” slopes of Mt. Gushmore, this park offers more attractions than any other (just some some):

   • summit plummet – a breathtaking “ski jump” tower;
   • teamboat springs – the world’s longest family white-water raft;
   • slush gusher – a very speed one;

   What is more, Disney’s Blizzard Beach offers a wave pool, children’s play area, lazy river, various snack bars and this list is not full.

   
   

2. Water Slide WorldLocation: Lake George, New York.

   Theme: Slides, SLides, SLIdes, SLIDes, SLIDEs, SLIDES, SLIDES…

   Story: Just the biggest water park on the East Coast, offering a great variety of slides, pools and good mood.

   Attractions: Hurrican Harbor – Wave Pool, Blue Bomber Slide, 2 Pirate’s Plunge Slides, Fantasy Island Activity Pool with Water Volleyball, 2 Tasmanian Twister Slides and etc.

   

3. Typhoon LagoonLocation: near Downtown Disney West Side.

   Theme: looks like a ship-wrecked island, the village crowded with numerous cargo, surfboards and other marine wreckage after a great storm.

   Story: it was the biggest and most popular water park on property before the Disney’s Blizzard Beach opening.

   Attractions: (just 3 of them)

   • Humunga Kowabunga (travel through caves at a speed up to 30 mph);
   • Castaway Creek (a 2100-foot continuous river raft with picturesque landscapes);
   • “Crush “N” Gusher” (a brand-new breathtaking ride).

   What I like the most about this water park is its theme, a really nice village right after the storm, everything complies with an overall motif.

   
   

4. Mount Olympus Water ParkLocation: a waterpark complex in Wisconsin Dells, WI, US.

   Theme: ancient times, gods, stones…

   Story: it is the biggest water and theme park in Wisconsin Dells.

   Attractions:

   • Blue magnum body slides (include various slides and ask you to be careful in order not to wipe out);
   • Thunder and lighting (you can find your own thunder or just steal someone’s);
   • speed slides (one of the world’s steepest water slides, it’s almost straight and offers 85-foot drop. Seems like you are in a free fall).

   

5. Noah’s ArkLocation: Wisconsin Dells Parkway, Wisconsin Dells, WI.

   Theme: residing on 70 acres, Noah’s Ark, America’s Largest Waterpark.

   Story: it has everything: 47 waterslides, endless rivers, children’s areas, pools. Their motto sounds optimistic: Summer just isn’t summer without a trip to Noah’s Ark. You see, it’s no use to visit Thailand or any other exotic country.

   Attractions:

   • congo bongo;
   • bahama falls;
   • dark anaconda – the most thrilling one.

I am not an exception, so, 2 days ago I made my mind to tailor my holiday in order it to meet my needs. Most of the people think of Asia as a very poor region… I can’t judge the whole continent, but AirAsia is a very low-cost airline based in Kuala Lumpur. AirAsia operates more than 200 flights a day, it implemented ticketless travel and unassigned seats. So, these holidays I’m going to visit Thailand, namely Bangkok and Pattaya and Phuket via AirAsia. A vast 600 acres area was bought by Mr. Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch in 1954, this land was predicted to be a fruit plantation, but, Mrs. Nongnooch made a trip abroad and came back with a firm decision to create there a tropical garden of ornamental plants and flowers.

In 1980 it was opened to the public and got an official name “Suan Nong Nooch”. Suan – means “garden”. Since it is a place where everybody concerned can get acquainted with Thai Culture and Cultural Shows. More than 2,000 visitors came there everyday. This garden always looks as if it does today. Visitors are offered various shows, for example: the elephant show (elephants can play football, dance and interact with people). The collection of cacti is really amazing, although, they are native to the US, these plants adapted well to the Thailand climate. Before going to this garden you can make an online tour!

This video is a perfect one, like no other it shows natural beauty of this region and reminds us, that everything can look ideal and astonishing even without a people’s intruding! The Islands look deserted and uninhabited, they seem untouched, the water is so clear and fresh, it was an ideal place for the movie “Beach”. Thailand itself is very popular among the tourists, but I think this movie add some popularity to it!

My friend told that the name of excursion is “Phi Phi Island Maya Beach Leonardo DiCaprio”, may be one day it will be called in the honour of Leonardo!
