It is a place of: numerous cherry blossoms and crystal clear waters, saffron fields and peaceful lakes, startling gardens and regal Chinar trees, Kashmir offers incredible nature landscapes and sceneries. Kashmir is one of the most beautiful parts of India and it is really fascinating to enjoy its natural beauties. This place is always beautiful and it doesn’t matter what season is now.

In Winter Kashmir is snow white and charming, in Spring it is young and blooming, in Summer it is joyful and happy and in Autumn it is flaming and dare.

There are a lot of versions as to the name origin. I love the following one that states- this valley was called in this way only when the people of Kash caste settled here permanently. In Kashmir one can buy numerous clothes, presents and simply lovely things.

Cherapanjee is a town of constant waterfalls and mysterious caves with numerous stalactites. Driving here can be called one of the most thrilling ever, as you will enjoy numerous waterfalls and clouds.

Mumbai (former Bombey) is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It’s population is 13.66 mln people. Mumbai lies near the Arabian Sea, so it’s climate has 2 main seasons: the humid one and the dry one. BTW, it is the largest city in India and it’s financial and commercial capital.

One of the hottest night attractions is Poison the Club. Once you have entered it there is no way to escape it. This club will literally poison you with it’s great atmosphere, people and food.

One of the nicest parks to visit is Tikuji Ni Wadi Fun Resort. This cool park is situated 40 km from Mumbai among great nature landscapes. The park offers a great selection of various coasters and other attractions.

Euro 2008 (June 7-29)

Well, actually, this kind of holiday will be a bit pricey. But this great tournament is worth your undivided attention, right? Games will be held in Switzerland and Austria and Vienna hosting the final. Don’t even dare to miss!!!

Hello, dear speed-lovers and everybody obsessed with the Tour de France. You can not only enjoy this show as a visitor but join the participants. The route starts in Brittany and finishes in Paris.

The image of this tower is synonymous to Delhi, you might enjoy it everywhere (on billboards, tatoos, vehicles, tea stalls …). Many tourists ask the same question: “Why is it so tall?” Because it was a victory tower, built in order to commemorate the winners.

The tower is a prefect example of Indo – Islamic Architecture and it is 72.5 meters high. Qutab Minar is surrounded by a rich green garden, attracting a lot of people. The tower is really majestic, the facades are very expensive, opulent and richly decorated with white marble and Arabic inscriptions.

But, the tower is not the only one attention-getter here. Why not visit a mosque near it, especially when it was the first mosque to be built in India. Then the richly decorated tomb of Iltutmish can draw your attention.

And, of course, don’t forget about the mysterious Iron Pillar. It is a pillar of exceptionally pure iron, taken from a Vishnu temple. This place is mesmerizing and it will definitely enchant you!

1. New Years in New York

   Since Christmas New York City transforms into a magical and really festive city, it gathers thousands of tourists. The weather can vary from mildly cold to bone-chilling. In New York you can spend New Year Eve both outdoors and indoors. So, while outdoors you are welcome to visit: Fifth Avenue store windows, Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, Top of the Empire State Building, Skaters at Rockefeller Center or Wollman Rink. While, indoors, you are welcome: Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Nutcracker at Lincoln center, Santa at Macy’s.

   It goes without saying, that in any case it will be rather cold outside and there will be a lot of people, but be sure you’ll catch the spirit of Christmas and forget about everything.

   New Year’s Eve at Disneyland is a great fun! It’s a fantastic, incredible party, it promises tons of fun, crowds of people and magic in the air! You’ll meet all your favourite cartoon-heroes (special parade) and experience incredible fireworks! Don’t miss!

    

3. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

   Just imagine, the entire city rushes towards the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema in order to: enjoy fireworks, music, and … to jump over 7 incoming waves right at the midnight. Thus, they’ll be lucky the whole year. You’ll face the biggest beach party in the world, all people wear white. It’s a great place for those adoring active celebration, exuberant gay, crowds of half-naked people, beer and dances. Sometimes the weather is not so hot as the atmosphere. So, go straight to numerous night-clubs and celebrate…

   
   

4. Sydney, Australia

   If you adore fireworks shows you have to be in Sydney, ’cause an extravagant show of approximately 80,000 fireworks will hardly leave you disappointed. In this cool beach town it’s impossible to feel boring. Harbour Party at Sydney’s is famous all over the world and is really a magical one. Sydney is the first city to celebrate New Year Eve. If you are tired of crowds but still want to enjoy the marvellous show, sit on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. Also, before celebration, visit one of numerous Sydney’s high-rise restaurants and enjoy the city.

   

5. Goa, India

   If you are dreaming about white sandy beaches, luxurious hotels/bungalows right on the shore, sun and surf – visit Goa in India. Also, it’s a perfect variant for both privacy and entertainment. Those in love will find here absence of crowds, sun, water and paradise. Others will go crazy from great nightclubs.
   

And, by the way, nobody has rejected an old and reliable variant – celebration at home. Choose the best!

There is one missing detail in this ideal picture – UNESCO’s attitude! On June 20, 2007 this organization officially confirmed, that it has no connection to this event, and its results will be based only on the opinions of people, who have an access to the Global Network! Pyramids in Giza were removed from the voting list and they were given a status of an Honorary New7Wonders Candidate! Egyptian authorities treated it as a completely unacceptable event and its results are biased and unscientific.

So, it is up to you to decide what opinion to follow, but, at least, we can get acquainted with these “New Wonders”.

The first one is Chichen Itza, one the most popular Mayan temple city. You can find it on the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. It was a large political and economic center. Nowadays, it includes a lot of buildings: the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners. They still exist today. Because of John Lloyd Stephens’s book, a lot of people found out about this place and made their minds to visit it. The pyramid can be treated as the greatest building of all Mayan temples. By the way, it was built before 800 A.D.

Christ Redeemer, situated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As for me it can be called a symbol of Brazil and hospitality of its people! It is a 38 meters tall statue of Jesus. This statue stands atop the Corcovado Mountain and looks at a beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro. Five years were spent onto its building and finally it was opened on October 12, 1931. Designer – Heitor da Silva Costa and this intent was realised by French sculptor Paul Landowski.

The Great Wall of China (220 B.C and 1368 – 1644 A.D.). Nowadays, it is a peculiar feature if the China Republic and it links the past, the present and the future! Originally, it was built to connect all the fortifications into a common defence system. Also there are two another reasons for its popularity: it the biggest man-made monument in the world and it can be seen from space. It took lives of thousands of people who were erecting it.

Peru, Machu Picchu (1460-1470). It can be viewed as the most significant heritage of the Inca Empire. Have you ever heard about “The Lost City of the Incas”? It is here. It was built by the Incan Emperor Pachacutec on the mountain Machu Picchu (“an old mountain”). This place was chosen because of its extraordinary location. This settlement was lost till 1911.

Petra (9 B.C. – 40 A.D.), Jordan. During the Ancient Times, Petra was rich capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV. It was developing with a blistering pace and had perfect tunnel constructions and great water chambers. There it is possible to find even a theater, that could hold 4,000 people. Today it serves as a decent represantative of Middle Eastern culture.

The Roman Colosseum (70 – 82 A.D.), Italy. In the center of Rome was built the biggest amphitheatre in order to render honours to successful legionnaires and to emphasize the fame of the Roman Empire. It is difficult to count, how many times its design was used in films, books, monuments, post cards and so on. By the way, it is the only representative from Europe!

And the last one can be seen in Agra, India – the Taj Mahal (1630 A.D.). It was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, as a mausoleum, to reverence the memory of his adorable late wife. It is made from – white marble and gardens surround it. Soon, the emperor was put into the prison and saw his creature – the Taj Mahal exceptionally through the cell window.
