Burg Eltz is a fantastic medieval castle situated in the hills above the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. The castle attracts attention as a magnet and not only because of its unusual location but because the way it looks.

Nowadays, the castle is still the property of the same family that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago. The Rübenach and Rodendorf families’ homes are open to the public.

Just have a look at the location of the castle: it is surrounded on three sides by the Elzbach River, and situated on a 70m rock spur.

The third part of the castle – the Kempenich houses were finished about 1530 and all the rooms in this part of the castle could be heated. I mean in the rest of the castles they have only one or two heated rooms.

Once an engraving of Burg Eltz was placed onto one of the banknotes of German currency.

What a fantastic castle!

If you visit Germany and especially its pearl Berlin for the first time and if you are going to spend there only one day, you have to be very careful and plan everything beforehand. It is no use for you to spend the whole day on the countless sightseeings, it is much better to view the city’s main attractions.

It is better to start your tour from the historical part – in Mitte. Only it this way you will feel the spirit of the the bygone Prussian days. Of course, you can’t miss Alexanderplatz: big, old and so Germanic. There you will meet the Fernsehturm and will have a perfect opportunity to enjoy the world from the tallest Berlin office. From Alexanderplatz you can walk down Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and then direct to Unter den Linden, the most popular street of Berlin that is full of numerous well-known buildings. Soon you will see the impressive Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral) on the right. Don’t miss the Schlossbrücke (Palace Bridge).

It is also possible and I highly recommend you to make a short detour to the Gendarmenmarkt, which is one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. And of course visit Pariser Platz that is a location of the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), a symbol of the city of Berlin.

One more thing I can recommend you – hire a car. Since transport prices in Germany are extremely high, it will be better and more comfortable to drive on your own. When I was in the same situation, I chose 2008 subaru outback because: the car is rather big and spacious, so even 5 people will feel themselves comfortable in it and what is more even their luggage will feel comfortable. The car is very comfortable and pleasant inside and its road performance is beyond any praises.

Good luck in Berlin!

The castle of Neuschwanstein can be named one of the most photographed castles of all times, we can enjoy it even as a logo of Disney.

The castle is situated in Germany and it was built in the style of the late romanesque period. Today I am not going to tell you the obvious, that it was Ludwig II, King of Bavaria, who decided to rebuild this castle, that is is an important sightseeing in Germany and that it is besieged by tourists all year round… I would like to mention 2 things, I liked the most about it:

Location

To my mind it was difficult to find a better place. This region is full of mountains, forests, meadows, lakes, cycle paths… It proposes more you can ever think possible.

Grotto and winter garden

I can’t say that I didn’t like the rest of the castle, but these two parts were the best. Just imagine a mysterious stalactite cavern just between the Living Room and the Study Ludwig II. Magnificent and charming! I can already imagine all the secret lovers sharing their love there.

And gardens… I simply adore them.

The Alps is the name of the stunningly beautiful mountain range system of Europe. It stretches in the east – from Austria and Slovenia, as well as through Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany and Italy and to France in the west. There is a general division of the Alps - the Western Alps and the Eastern Alps.

A question which of these 2 incredible pictures to take had been puzzling me for a couple of hours, before I decided to choose both of them and show your great contrasts of the magnificent Alps.

The first picture shows nice color contrasts between the sky and the mountains. And it is the French Alps.

And the 2nd one shares with us beautiful countryside with gorgeous clouds and the sharp mountains. It is the Swiss Alps. Both of them are so realistic!
