The following wildfires in Australia (February 2009) were really devastating. They ruined great places and turned them into deserts. For the first time I can’t tell you to enjoy the pictures – only to face the truth. I feel really sorry about the following situation (((

This picture shows how everything started – the nature was trying to survive but it failed. Sad to say it – but the combination of fire and green trees is really mind-blowing.

Kakadu National Park is famous for its flora and fauna diversity and great natural landscapes. It is situated within the Alligator Rivers Region (the Northern Territory of Australia). It’s area extends over 19,804 square kilometres. It’s name comes from the wrong pronunciation of ‘Gagudju’ (from Aboriginal language spoken in the northern part of this Park). This park was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Kakadu lies in tropics, thus, possessing monsoonal type of climate and two main seasons: the dry and the rain one. According to the official data, there are more than 1600 plant species in Kakadu and 4 major river systems and 6 major landforms. Special attention must be given to aboriginal rock art sites. They are really outstanding!

New Year is a great holiday and many people adore spending it at home, while others dream about distant places and they will for sure like this information…

  1. New Years in New York

Since Christmas New York City transforms into a magical and really festive city, it gathers thousands of tourists. The weather can vary from mildly cold to bone-chilling. In New York you can spend New Year Eve both outdoors and indoors. So, while outdoors you are welcome to visit: Fifth Avenue store windows, Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, Top of the Empire State Building, Skaters at Rockefeller Center or Wollman Rink. While, indoors, you are welcome: Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Nutcracker at Lincoln center, Santa at Macy’s.

It goes without saying, that in any case it will be rather cold outside and there will be a lot of people, but be sure you’ll catch the spirit of Christmas and forget about everything.
