Ecotourism is a very popular term now and most people don’t understand it quite well although still name ecotourism any kind of travelling they think suits the option.

Frankly speaking, the word “ecotourism” seems to be one of the most mis-used words in the travel industry. The Ecotourism Society defines this kind of travelling as “responsible travel to natural areas which conserves the environment and improves the welfare of the local people”.

I mean, if you visit the rainforest it is not eco-tourism unless you the people who live there or the rainforest benefits from you trip.

Nowadays a lot of companies promote themselves as something that they are not. They claim that ecotourism is any trip or holiday is a traveller tends to minimize the impact that tourism has on an area.

Anyway, ecotourism is extremely popular nowadays and even if most people don’t quite understand what it means, it is amazing that they want to keep nature healthy, clean and beautiful.
