Germany seemed to be out of distance, many miles and hours from the USA, but after a trip to this country you will definitely take unforgettable memories home. Brandenburg Gate, Cologne Cathedral, Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle, Zollverein coal mine, Chalk cliffs … but,I am sure, a trip to Germany would not be complete without visiting Vischering Castle.

Water around Castle Vischering, Germany

It is a medieval castle near Lüdinghausen. Frankly speaking, it was completely reconstructed (in the years following 1520). The upper part of this castle with former defensive battlements is surrounded by a moat. Due to reconstruction we can see how impassable it was. This castle is the biggest one in northern Germany.

Be ready to some difficulties, this castle is a hard nut to crack. You’ll have to leave a car 200 meters before the castle, ’cause it cannot be reached directly by vehicles.

Nowadays, it is used as a museum and place for cultural events. Have a nice trip!
