I wanted to mention that Poipu is in the midst of its largest construction phase ever. In addition to the 1000+ residences and shops going in at Kukuila, there are many other large projects going up in the area. There have been a plethora of complaints about noise dust. Hyatt, which is a good distance southeast of the construction, is a safe bet. Sheraton and the resorts mentioned on your site, are in the midst of it. This will be going on for the rest of this year, and beyond. On NCL cruise in port days, Poipu beach itself has tour buses drop off crowds on the tiny (and beautiful) beach. So 2008 might be a year to think about a north shore Kauai vacation, if these things concern you. But if you have any specific questions about construction, detours, or other suggestions, please let me know. Aloha.
