Ein Avdat is a place in Israel in the Negev that impresses visitors with its stunning beauty and picturesque views. First of all, Ein Avdat is a narrow canyon that is located in Ein Avdat National park.
Most scientists tend to agree that this canyon was formed 80 000 years ago, it’s beauty is emphasized with numerous springs from rocks and water-pools. Actually, the source of water is still unknown, ’cause the area itself is almost arid. Walls aof the canyon are yellowish-white and cliffs are very high (tens of meters).
There are 2 main entrances to the canyon – the northern one at the bottom of this canyon, and the southern one at the top. You can enjoy the excursion either by feet or on a trailer. You will see various species of birds of prey and ibexes, a 15m. long waterfall (although is flows a year round, in hot months it is not very impressive), a 8m. deep pool, the pool is very cold and salty, so, it is forbidden to swim in it. Also, it is possible to go up the stone stairs right to the top of the fall. In general, the excursion is fascinating and really great!
