One of Cyprian dessertsCyprian cuisine is a visiting card of this country. A lot of epithets can be used to describe it, but first of all it is nutritious, delicious and tasty. It is based on the herbs of different kinds, includes a lot of meat and salads, and, of course, Greeks never forget about red wine and other drinks.

To start with, there are two kinds of cuisine there. In the Northern part of the Cyprus Republic we deal with the Turkish cuisine (by the way, Turkish coffee is the most delicious coffee I have ever tasted) and in the Republic, the Greek one is the most popular. In Nicosia the situation is even more interesting, it contains not only two abovementioned cuisines, but Lebanese, French, Indian, Italian and even Chinese cuisines, as well.

It may seem, that Greek dishes have nothing of their own. But at a closer investigation, it is so easy to find out main One of delicious Cyprian dishesfeatures of this cuisine and to realise, that namely this synthesis makes Cyprian food unforgettable and so tasty.

I am a sweet tooth and I’m fond of various desserts. And Cyprian desserts, as a rule, are made from fresh fruits and different pastries. They have a lot of cream and syrup, they are delicious and have such funny names: Muhallebi, Shammali, Doukissa.

Also, I like tea, but it isn’t spread in Cyprus, but they like coffee and red wine. Greek coffee is always served together with a glass of water and as for wine, it is a usual addition to any meal, also it is commonly used while preparing some sauces. The red wine has a long history and who knows may be it started here.

While spending your time in this republic, pay special attention to species. There a lot of spice shops in each Cyprian city. Also, you can investigate the assortment of the nearest market. Good luck and enjoy your meal!
