London Parliament and Big Ben, UK Love and passion… Some people don’t even dare to presuppose how important these two feelings are.Prague St.vitus cathedral

They don’t necessarily suppose each other, love is devotion, a commitment, a long-term felling, and that can make you happy even when there are no reasons to be happy. And passion – it is a ghost with love face. It is only physical love; it is a strong attraction…

I remember a situation. When I was only 15 years old, I used to fell in love with people, whom I didn’t know at all, I mean his name and appearance was the only knowledge of him. Now, it sounds ridiculous and I am glad, that today my eyes are opened wide and I exactly know how to define these to feelings and not to confuse them. But, there some situations, when you just want to lose your head from love, flirt, infatuation, to feel yourself happy and free, careless and safe and to find out – everything is possible, this feeling you can obtain visiting the following cities:

VENICE

Believe nothing can be compared with its silent sombre and at the same time so attractive waters, they are seducing you to join the invisible dance, unspoken mysteries, to become a part of their exuberant symphony. Its Canals unites the present and the past and open the doors into the future. Visit this unsurpassed place, enjoy the peace of its Canals, look at gondolas with your own eyes, and walk by the paths of ancient palazzo. Drink a cup of hot tea or cappuccino together with pigeons in Piazza San Marco or just meet a nice stranger and kiss with him on the Bridge of Sighs. Feel the atmosphere of love!

RABAT (the capital of Morocco)

The lonely wall in Morocco Marrakesh, Marokko, Mekka …Just listen to these words, they sound like a melody! Spices, jewellery, markets, scurrying about people, hot debates, half-closed faces…. Oh, I love it! East cities, what can be better! It a completely another world, full of dangers and undiscovered events, luxurious hotels and rich sheikhs, but aware, they can steal you and make a 5th wife! These people, they are dancing and singing, cooking and welcoming guests, it is to thrilling to cognize them, their culture, traditions and lifestyle! Passion can be perceived at each part of this city!

PARIS

What can be said about Paris that is still unknown to public? A lot treat it as the world’s most romantic city. Love is an integral part of it. Each brick, each person, each smile radiates it. The Eiffel Tower, it is especially beautiful in the sunset hours, you can make photos near it, touch it or just drink champagne in front of it and understand, that you are really happy. May be you will meet a newly married couple, and who knows, one day you can visit this city together with your own husband!

NEW YORK

Eiffel Tower in the fall As for me, at the first sight, it hardly can be called a romantic city, but after a thorough investigation it turns out, that a picnic in the Central Park is a rather good pastime, such cosy event among the huge mega polis. It is so touching! Than you can do shopping and while doing this meet a handsome stranger or just a beautiful liar, who will make you crazy and love, for sure, will come to your heart and soul and make them happy too!

LONDON

Sometimes it seems to me, that this city is a centre of everything: life, traditions, experience and future.

Traditionally, it is supposed, that London is grey and uncomfortable, big and alien. It is so easy to get lost in it, to merge with this city and forget who you are. So many sightseeing, so many lonely people, but usually, under cloud of night, they can gather together and spend some time while talking to each other, exchanging news and information, letting cat out of the bag and usual to England cup of tea with milk unites them and warms their souls up.

PRAGUE

Dubrovnik - Croatia Lose yourself in the beauty of this ancient town. Prague is famous for its bridges, there are a great number of them, block stone streets and roads, medieval architecture and comfortable cafes. Sometimes, it looks like a small Venice. It has a well-known watch with gnomes and the Charles Bridge, where you can meet a Prince on the white horse and he will steal you and take to his Palace. Here, you will understand – love, passion and romantic attitude is still alive!

SAINT PETERSBURG

It is a great, glorious and marvellous Russian city. It is so romantic to stay there, especially, when the nights are white and the bridges are separated. You can meet a sunset at the shore of Niva-river and enjoy the peace and calmness. Various museums and art galleries, as well as castles and palaces are waiting for you, to share their history with such a thankful and attentive visitor! Don’t keep them waiting!

BUENOS AIRES

Buenos Aires is an incredible combination of Latin America’s Culture and European cloaked in a European intelligence and soft charm. The whole Argentine is a tango country, people are dancing everywhere. Santorini, Greece This dance is first of all a passion, love, infatuation. It is full of unexpressed desire, invisible hints and body language. It is no better place, to feel yourself beloved and to get acquainted with a sexy stranger, who is dancing next to you!

DUBROVNIK, Croatia

Adriatic has many “pearls”, but the city of Dubrovnik is the most significant. It can compete even with the acknowledged romantic cities, such as Paris and Venice. It is situated in Croatia and has a status and fame of the coastal resort. Blue, clear waters of Adriatic, limestone precipices and attractive old marble-paved streets together with antique churches, squares and castles leaves no chance to withstand their beauty. Be sure, even if romantic is an empty sound for you, this city will make you change your mind!

SANTORINI, Greece

Santorini is the only island in this list. An Island, whenever you will look, there will be blue, clear waters, black-sand beaches and coastal villages. Here you can remember about the lost city – Atlantis, have a look at incredible sights of the volcanic eruption, drink exotic cocktails and enjoy life as it is!

Sochi 2014

Misha_olympicThe 22nd Olympic Games will take place in the Russian Black Sea Resort, named Sochi. Sochi has been striving for this honourable event for long 27years, after the Olympic Games 1980. I was in Russia 2 years ago, I really liked this country, especially Cheburashks, Krorkodil Gena, samovar with hot and strong black Russian tea, matrioshkas, lapti – these things are so cute! Their people are so friendly and their hospitality is undisputable! Russia, the official name The Russian Federation is the biggest country in the world, and don’t believe that there are only 3 location there; I mean Moscow, St. Petersburg and Siberia! Now you already know Sochi.

Sochi - candidate city 2014Sochi is famous for its fashionable and expensive Black Sea resorts. And, of course, it is not all about vodka and ushankas (hats), its traditions is much older and interesting. Also, it is one of the most powerful countries, it has nuclear weapon, oil, gas and it is a member of the Great 8. But, it is another story to tell. So, at the 4th of July Russian city Sochi was announced a host of the Winter Olympic Games. As for the Russians, they deserved this nomination, and they won it and leave PyeongChang behind. They got 51 votes and its main rival only 47. Russia won only in the second circle of elections in Guatemala city. Olympic Games can be viewed as a new milestone for the Russian Federation; it will help to develop a new system of sport games, to develop the infrastructure of sport and to outline new perspectives! It is planned to build the following objects: skating rinks, new Olympic Stadium, the Main Media Center, and, it goes without saying, the main Olympic Village. A lot of Commissions, from different countries (MOC representatives), visited Sochi and made an objective decision. President Vladimit Poutin mentioned that 12 billion dollars are already allocated for Olympic Games Development. It is amazing, in 7 years, Russia can have the most developed and sophisticated sport complex throughout the world. It opens completely another opportunities for Russian winter sports, it will make this country even more popular and more powerful!

On the 7th of July 2007 new seven wonders of the world were announced! They were determined due to online polls and telephone; more than 100 million of people participated in this voting! This day in Lisbon, Portugal, in the stadium Luz took place a great gala-concert, devoted to this occasion! More than 60 000 people visited this stadium! Jennifer Lopez was among guests!

There is one missing detail in this ideal picture – UNESCO’s attitude! On June 20, 2007 this organization officially confirmed, that it has no connection to this event, and its results will be based only on the opinions of people, who have an access to the Global Network! Pyramids in Giza were removed from the voting list and they were given a status of an Honorary New7Wonders Candidate! Egyptian authorities treated it as a completely unacceptable event and its results are biased and unscientific.

So, it is up to you to decide what opinion to follow, but, at least, we can get acquainted with these “New Wonders”.

Chichen ItzaThe first one is Chichen Itza, one the most popular Mayan temple city. You can find it on the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. It was a large political and economic center. Nowadays, it includes a lot of buildings: the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners. They still exist today. Because of John Lloyd Stephens’s book, a lot of people found out about this place and made their minds to visit it. The pyramid can be treated as the greatest building of all Mayan temples. By the way, it was built before 800 A.D. Brasil. Rio De Janeiro. Corcovado

Christ Redeemer, situated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As for me it can be called a symbol of Brazil and hospitality of its people! It is a 38 meters tall statue of Jesus. This statue stands atop the Corcovado Mountain and looks at a beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro. Five years were spent onto its building and finally it was opened on October 12, 1931. Designer – Heitor da Silva Costa and this intent was realised by French sculptor Paul Landowski.

The great wall of ChinaThe Great Wall of China (220 B.C and 1368 – 1644 A.D.). Nowadays, it is a peculiar feature if the China Republic and it links the past, the present and the future! Originally, it was built to connect all the fortifications into a common defence system. Also there are two another reasons for its popularity: it the biggest man-made monument in the world and it can be seen from space. It took lives of thousands of people who were erecting it. The Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Peru, Machu Picchu (1460-1470). It can be viewed as the most significant heritage of the Inca Empire. Have you ever heard about “The Lost City of the Incas”? It is here. It was built by the Incan Emperor Pachacutec on the mountain Machu Picchu (“an old mountain”). This place was chosen because of its extraordinary location. This settlement was lost till 1911.

PetraPetra (9 B.C. – 40 A.D.), Jordan. During the Ancient Times, Petra was rich capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV. It was developing with a blistering pace and had perfect tunnel constructions and great water chambers. There it is possible to find even a theater, that could hold 4,000 people. Today it serves as a decent represantative of Middle Eastern culture.

The Roman Colosseum

The Roman Colosseum (70 – 82 A.D.), Italy. In the center of Rome was built the biggest amphitheatre in order to render honours to successful legionnaires and to emphasize the fame of the Roman Empire. It is difficult to count, how many times its design was used in films, books, monuments, post cards and so on. By the way, it is the only representative from Europe!

The Taj Mahal And the last one can be seen in Agra, India – the Taj Mahal (1630 A.D.). It was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, as a mausoleum, to reverence the memory of his adorable late wife. It is made from – white marble and gardens surround it. Soon, the emperor was put into the prison and saw his creature – the Taj Mahal exceptionally through the cell window.

Seven Wonders of the World

Seven Wonders! Yes, exactly so! Wonders! It was my dream to visit and see them with my own eyes! And it came true! I mean my dream came OldSevenWondersOfTheWorldtrue! I saw six of them on pictures and the only one, that still exists I saw in reality. Of course, I am talking about the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Recently, I found out that notion “wonders” is of Greek origin “theamata” and means more “must-sees”, but not wonders! Today we have seven wonders and this list came to us from the time immemorial! It was fulfilled in the Middle Ages— unfortunately, only one Wonder still exists in our world! This list contains information and data mostly from old Greek writings, and, it goes without saying, it has only places that ancient Greeks were acquainted with. There were a lot of attempts to change this list, in this situation we can even deal with two types of travel wonders (man-made and natural). But, to put it short, they still exist, so, let’s have a closer look at them!

Great Pyramid of Giza! It was constructed by Egyptians in 2650-2500 BC. Originally it was a tomb for Pharaohs. To tell the truth, there are 112 pyramids and only 9 of them are woman. The biggest pyramid is called Khufu’s Pyramid or the Pyramid of Khufu.

Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Time of their erecting 600 BC. Babylonians build them and they stand till the 1st century BC. Then came a sudden earthquake and it completely destroyed this wonder! By the way, just imagine exotic fruits and trees, marvellous flowers and nature, bewildering beauty, birds and butterflies flying around.., An idyllic picture, yeah? Some historians do believe, these gardens have never existed!

Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. This Temple was built in 550 BC by three nations. It was built as a dedication and proof of faith to the Greek goddess Artemis. It was building for long 120 years and destroyed by in a eye blink fire in 356 BC. According, to historians it was magnificent and haughty! But, nothing is sacred to greedy and mean people! Herostratus set this Temple on fire!

Statue of Zeus at Olympia was constructed in 435 BC by Greeks. It was a rather high statue – 12 metres or 40 feet tall! But, again, it’s existence didn’t last long – in 5th or 6th AD it was ruined by Christianity supporters!

Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. Time of its appearance – 351 BC. Actually, it gave birth to a new term “mausoleum”. This building was high and beautifully decorated, but earthquake changed everything in 1494 AD.

Colossus of Rhodes was erected in 292-280 BC. Now it can be compared with Statue of Liberty (as to its size). This was a statue of the Greek God, named Helios (the God of the Sun). Earthquake decided that this statue has no right for existing!

And the last one, Lighthouse of Alexandria. Time of construction 3rd century BC. It was 180 metres high and till the 14th century considered to be the tallest building of the world! Again earthquake didn’t have mercy on this building!
