Where to rent a car in Europe?

Travelling itself is great fun. It is hardly possible to find a person, who can either hate travelling or be indifferent to it. It’s not just thrilling and exciting to discover new countries, it is extremely fascinating to learn more about another cultures, traditions and lifestyle. But, sometimes, minor and from the 1st sight unimportant details can easily cloud your happiness from the process of travelling. Namely this happened with a friend of mine 2 weeks ago while her holiday in Europe.

She got from the USA to France without any difficulties and had to stay in France for 5 days. It took her 3 days to become boring from exhausting excursions, so she made her mind to discover France on her own. And this is where the problem was. She wanted to rent a car and to visit picturesque vicinities of France, but she almost failed… Because it turned to be almost impossible: she is not a citizen of France, she must have done it in advance, there are no cars today and so on indefinitely. She was almost convinced of going everywhere on her own… feet. But, then (she is a lucky dog!) she found a Car Hire company, capable of fulfilling all her wishes and satisfying all her demands.

Grenoble city in France

She rented a car (a new one with nice driving performance), the cost was really low and drove from Torino to Grenoble (240 km). Why Grenoble? Because it is a nice French city near the French Alps. It is perfect for skiing but not for sightseeing’s viewing. So, she visited Mussée Dauphinois and enjoyed marvellous views over the Grenoble city from Moucherotte Mountain. And, by the way, car hire Grenoble is very convenient and the range of cars can surprise even an experienced car-lover or traveller.

Next country in my friend’s route was Switzerland and again, this car hire company justified her expectations. Everything was as clean as a whistle! Car Hire Geneva had a spacious office with a great variety of cars. And she enjoyed Switzerland and Geneva as a part of it, the only one minus – she was late to the Geneva Wine Festival.

Geneva amazing roads

To put it short, she enjoyed the journey and the cities and she is very thankful to the Argus Car Hire because they saved her holiday! The only one thing she is not satisfied with – she could hire a car online from the USA! What a shame!

The Sochi 2014 Winter Games is a chance for the Russians and the Russian Federation, to prove – they are able of achieving great successes in both economic  situation and sport. But, let’s keep our eye single, Russian sportsmen are not bad, and their school of figure skating is a legendary one.

So, the symbol of the Sochi 2014 Winter Games is still unknown. Some people claim it to be a Cheburashka or a Mammoth, others believe in Olympic Misha triumphal return. But, I want you to get acquainted with one more competitor – a glamour Snezhik. A father of this creature is Andrey Chesnokov, Snezhik is a non-official symbol of city Snezhinsk.

snezhik_picture Snezhik is a close relative of a Snowman and a Big-foot. It was born in 1997 and occupied the 2nd place in the contest for the holiday symbol of Snezhinsk-city. But, this small funny white creature from snow, turned to be a very popular guy in Russia, so Andrey made cartoons about it and people even made a monument to Snezhik – people adore it. Snezhik  is a happy small boy with an irresistable smile. He makes people laugh and their mood definitely goes up. This small boy even has 2 own sites, the 1st one is devoted to Snezhik – his life, adventures and friends. Also, there everybody concerned can find cartoons about Snezhik. And the 2nd one is about Snezhik promotion. Many people want it to be the official symbol of Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

The official contest are reported to be announced late in November. According to Andrey, Mammoth advertising campaign is tough and covers almost of all mass-media means. But, the founder still believes he and Snezhik has some chances. Andrey has no money and no VIP-friends, but, Internet-voting is already opened, so choose, please!

Flowers In Egypt

Egypt… I was there, I mean in Egypt and this country has impressed me greatly. Not because it is a completely another world with its own culture and traditions, but ’cause it has a lot of worth looking places. This time I paid my attention to flowers. Unfortunately, I don’t know there names or titles (as you wish!), but I just like them. Rains are rare visitors in Egypt, but flowers are still amazing. Just imagine, how it is challenging to water them everyday, to take care about them and to grow flowers among the desert.

Most of these flowers were in our hotel “SteigenBerger”. It’s a new and quickly developing hotel right on the seashore. It is surrounded by palm-trees and flowers. Grass in not bad their. I even made a hand in golf. Just look and enjoy!

By the way, I don’t know whether they are synthetic or not, but they had no smell. Strange flowers!

I am just going further with the most famous haunted hotels in the USA. I have already written about 3 of them and now it’s time to mention another 2 or 3. I will find it out, if the ghosts won’t scare me. Good luck! First of all, to me…

  1. And frankly speaking, the 4th one. Napa River Inn.“Napa River Inn – the only luxury hotel in Napa, California. Located in a convenient surroundings, near historic downtown. Is an ideal place for both romantic and business meetings. Can offer spa, a restaurant, amazing view on picturesque Napa Valley, retreats and it is just a beginning…”

The building of Napa Inn was erected in 1884 by Captain Albert Hatt and was a simple warehouse. Albert Jr. one of the sons of Albert Hatt was in charge of the family business. Unfortunately, the 2 younger sons of Albert died in 1899 and then died his wife Margaret. Albert himself committed a suicide in 1912. Since, the building is said to be haunted by him, his sons and wife and also a man, who bought the building later.

There is a common opinion, that almost every hotel has its ghosts, the matter is – some of them are too noisy. May be, because, it is no use, to deny the following saying: every family has its skeleton in the cupboard. The same with hotels, especially old hotels. Some people are brave enough to spend a night in a haunted hotel, but there are no guarantees that he or she will see a ghost. Ghosts are very choosy guys. But, however, you can increase your chances, while staying in the most famous haunted hotels in the USA. God bless you!

  1. Stanley Hotel.

“7,500 Feet Above The Ordinary. This hotel is situated among amazing natural conditions and landscapes. Beautiful Estes Park, incredible mountain view, valleys, the place the future meets the past… Special offers, spa center, modern amenities and so on…”

Have you ever read Stephen King’s book “The Shining”? Terrifying and scary. Half of this book was written while spending a night in a room 217 (a nice room, yeah?). But, according to the official data, room number 418 is more awful than 217.

    What’s strange?

Strange noises, children plays in the hall (although, there were no children at the hotel), creased bed (although, the room was empty). Previous owners of the hotel: F.O. and Flora Stanley are reported to visit it and very very often.
